Religion is, as Jesus describes it, is following rules and rituals as a means to earn favor with a deity without believing any of it or following false religions made by men with no power. It can also be the height of hypocrisy…that’s why Jesus called the religious elect a brood of vipers…meaning they claimed to love God and speak for God and his people BUT they were just acting…people who call themselves a Christian but don’t follow Christ are deeply offensive to God. I mean if the bible says God came as Jesus to set the captives free…or that we are free in Christ then why did some people use the same bible to justify cruelty, molestation and abuse? The answer is, people who by their very nature ARE NOT GOOD. There are no good people, only people who at times do nice things.
