Truth Minute: Jesus Saves

I believe that it is a tragedy and disservice to lead people to believe that attendance, devotion, a position in church or performance are what God looks at as a factor in their salvation. It’s not to say that some of those elements aren’t important, It’s that they are more of a “result” of being saved versus the reasons for one being saved. You need to know that God is the one who draws a person to himself without any help from the individual (Grace). The reason for this is to make it clear that they have no significant part in their own redemption or regeneration.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NASB)
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

The person, due to mankind’s inherent sinful nature, cannot and will not choose God or accept salvation. Without Jesus they will be righteously judged and heaven will not be their reward because they are guilty according to God’s standard of morality (which is the perfect execution of the 10 Commandments in thoughts and deeds). This condition of man’s sinful heart therefore permanently blocks a true relationship with God, rendering the human incapable of knowing God intimately and thusly not capable of loving God or his Word in Scripture. It is the Gospel that is the chief vehicle for the redemption and redeeming of mankind. How the Gospel is expressed is not the issue…But that it IS expressed.

John 3:16-18 (NLT)
16 “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
18 “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.

The Gospel is “Who Jesus is and what He came to do”. Jesus (Yahshua) is God (Yahweh) and he came to save those that are lost. We don’t know who is lost or who will be saved…we are only to share or tell man of his evil and depraved condition and its corresponding cure. The cure for that depravity is Jesus..and that God, through his grace and mercy, will save, deliver and set you or that individual free from the penalty of Hell which is due to all men that dont “know” him. It is by grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone that acquits a man or woman from the justified penalty of their hidden and exposed sins. Jesus is the warm embrace in a cold world that is bent against God. Jesus is the reason why the sentence for our guilt is commuted and it is by the blood of Jesus that you and I, as imperfect we are, is saved and forgiven for all that we have done by a perfect God.#theGospel #share
