God’s Order Vs. Man’s Control

Control

1 Corinthians 14:40 (KJV)

40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

Don’t mistake control for order. Control is bred out of insecurity, order is birthed out of honor and respect. If you honor your leader (a Godly leader specifically) then you will trust the order of God…so lets establish some basics of biblical order.

Exodus 20:12 (NKJV)
12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you.

This establishes Order between the parent and child in the natural and in the spirit. To be clear the parent should not provoke the child to WRATH…but there is a difference between provoking or tormenting versus instruction and correction. If you have a good parent(s) you don’t have to agree or like their instructions (do we ever always like what God says?) you just have to be obedient regardless of your opinion or feelings…they hold that office for a purpose. Now you may be thinking…(he is going to launch the “don’t touch my anointed” line) but no this does not apply to false prophets, bootleg preachers or false teachers…but those that have been tested, watched publicly and privately over years for faithfulness and obedience, NOT perfection.)

Ephesians 5:22-29 (NKJV)
22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.
24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.
29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.

This establishes order in the home. The word submit in today’s culture can create a bit of consternation if taken out of context but within the confines of the biblical text, it means to RECIPROCATE…not according to ones personal opinion but to the will of God. Marriage is a visible sign to the unbeliever of Christs relationship to the church. God Covers the man the man covers the woman and the woman covers the children. The scriptures above speaks nothing of domination or force but love which is self-sacrificial…when sacrifice for others stops so will the marriage. The order here is not to divide but unify…and unity among husband and wife should be promoted (in context) according to Gods word.

1 Timothy 3:5 (NLT)
5 For if a man cannot manage his own household, how can he take care of God’s church?

This establishes order for service in ministry…this does not mean that the marriage is problem free…it just demands that those in leadership give ATTENTION to the issues of the family because how you take care of one carries over into the other world. Love in one arena will mean love in the other…abuse in one will mean abuse in the other…if there is irreconcilable division in the home then there is no credibility with your witness to others.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV)
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

This establishes the order of God’s word in your life. SO if you love God you will keep his word…and even if you mess up you still know that God is right…further, if you love God and you are living contrary to his word then you A) have an issue with the one you love and what he said or b) you really don’t love him…because the Word of God and God are “one” in the same (John 1:1-4). So if a person sends you a scripture as an answer you will either see it as an opinion or as truth…if you see Gods word as an mere option you are out of ORDER with God.

1 Corinthians 4:15 (NKJV)
15 For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

There is order where you learn the Word. There are many people who quote, post, write or inbox, but few that mentor closely and labor in love…If a father or pastor never rebukes corrects or instructs they are out of balance and are really weak pacifists to the immature.

1 Samuel 15:23 (NKJV)
23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He also has rejected you from being king.”

There is a difference between control and order. So don’t mistake order with ungodly control…control lines up with mans agenda, seeks to serve mans own desires and twists the scriptures for their own gain (2 peter 3:16)…Controlling behavior is manipulative, passive-aggressive, and seeks retaliation upon those that disobey with scorn and cuts off anyone in opposition…while Godly order is done in faith, trust and obedience, even if the appearance is firm….if a pastor is not compromising the Word then they are in alignment with God…if they do compromise then they are out of ORDER and the spirit of Anarchy (Anti-Christ) has set in, the anointing is diminished, wolves will devour the sheep and the house will fall.
