A Rush of Wisdom

James 1:5 (KJV) If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to allmen liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Every now and then I will get a “rush of wisdom”  from the Lord about a particular series of issues, thoughts or revelations about life and leadership. many years ago when I was making alot of mistakes and errors I prayed to God for wisdom and he truly has added to me greatly over the years…Below are several wisdom notes that will help you one many levels. Be Blessed and I pray that they impact your life.

  1. You can preach and teach for FREE for years, be faithful to your spouse for decades, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, be there for folk, give money, be the best parent, be biblical, no scandals or slander and be as sincere as a butterfly on a tulip…AND there will STILL be someone that does not like you and will try to PUT skeletons in your closet…be encouraged and be delivered from the opinions of people. Keep moving forward. #focus
  2. You need to be around someone who LOVES you but is NOT impressed with your gifts, talents, or abilities…that way when they speak into your life you know its for your own good and not biased. #leadmeguideme
  3. If you only “lead” when you are “liked” you wont be leading for long.
  4. Be careful of people who are quick to say they only follow God and not man…often this is a cloak for rebellion and isolation from accountability. If you truly understood that statement you would follow the two greatest commandments…to love God with all your heart, soul and strength and your neighbor as yourself. If you have no neighbors how can you love them…if you love all of God then there is no way that you will be on a mission alone. Following God and not man means to walk like Christ…who was the master at building and keeping meaningful relationships with others.
  5. If you want others to follow you then you must demonstrate that you know how to be led by others. #leadlikechrist
  6. Be careful of pulpit snipers…they will assassinate your character in hopes of taking over.
  7. The most damaging sin to a Christian is AMBITION. Ambition will have you place a church next to another one, ambition will make you go in debt because your trying to naturally keep up with a ministry that has been blessed by God supernaturally. Ambition will make you put out flyers at the same time, posts at the same time and events at the same time. Ambition will keep you from complementing those that you are competing with. Ambition had lucifer fall quick from heaven…if it pulled down an arch angel it will surely do the same to you.
  8. Be careful of people who only deal with folk on “their” level…they only see peers but not potential. #theleastoftheseshallbethegreatest #youcompetewithpeersnotsonsorfathers
  9. You are in the Body of Christ and Word of God is it’s appendix. Don’t think that it’s not needed in order to live because you don’t recognize it’s worth or purpose. #sufficient
  10. For in much wisdom is much grief, And he who increases knowledge increases sorrow. (Ecclesiastes 1:18 NKJV) The more you know does not always lead to a better life or a closer relationship with God. That’s mental ascension which is very limited in the human experience. There is however “righteous” knowledge…or the wisdom of God that focuses on the things above and not on earth which in many cases are vain and meaningless. #googledoesnotmakeyouanexpertatlife
  11. Sometimes people are afraid to love again, to trust again, or to live again because of what they went through…declare today that this time will be different. Don’t just proceed with caution. Proceed with love and compassion. #youcanrestnow
  12. The best way to grow is to get out of the way of what you planted. #trustingothers
  13. The reason some people sever beneficial relationships is because they know you were right all along but pride won’t allow them to rebuild the bridge that they have burned. Forgive them anyway and keep it moving.
  14. Never take the bait when dealing with passive aggressive people who indirectly post on social media or any other platform. The best response is no response. Silence can’t be misquoted.
  15. Sometimes we find the ones we love at the bottom in dark places…both of you met during a time of suffering and lack and a bond was formed. However don’t let how you met dictate how you live. One of you will need to have the strength to pull the other out of the pit so that the both of you can bond during the best of times as well. #morning
  16. It’s takes maturity to not retaliate towards those who deserve it. Often the ones who seem hard need firm but gentle care and the ones who seem gentle need hard motivation. #balance
  17. If your marriage is suffering while you are pursuing ministry, you need to put down what’s being done for others and focus on home. #itsasacrifice
  18. Never shake a man’s hand while he is fishing…wait until it’s pulled up on the boat before it’s examined. At that point it can either be cleaned, kept, or thrown back because it’s not a fish at all. #ministry
